If you know anything about PW Photography, it’s that our style is not considered Traditional. Sure, we are trained at posing and lighting, like any professional portrait studio photographer should be, but we like to add our own unique twist to what may be seen as the typical bridal portrait. Although bridal portraits in studio with high-key backgrounds are classic and beautiful, we enjoy trying to bring out the personalities of our brides by capturing them in unique and interesting locations. A modern bridal portrait doesn’t mean that your session will become a “trash the dress” session, it simply means that your portrait will show off who you are with more detail and in a more unique way.
Meghan was all about having a fun session, going to East Carolina University’s campus, and having some great portraits at interesting and favorite spots. This was our favorite! Anyone walking by can see the wall is interesting, but what did Pete do to capture it? He moved a newspaper stand and stood on it to get the appropriate angle and lighting. Conventional? No. That’s the point. Having a vision of something and not stopping until you create it-this is what drives creativity and creates your own style. Anyone can take a bridal portrait, but does it say anything about the bride or the person capturing it?
